Southfork Country Church Carshow -- Water Sales by Troop 1001 -- Saturday October 14 from 10am to 3PM

Posted on Oct 12 2023 - 3:25pm

Do you like cars, trucks and motorcycles?  Well then maybe you would enjoy selling water at the Southfork Country Church Carshow to help raise money for the Troop.

A family member to an Eagle Scout from Troop 1001 has invited us to raise funds by selling water and/or soda at a Car show sponsored by the Dallas Area Pontiac Club. It will include different makes of cars, trucks, and motorcycles. There will also be professional live entertainment. They expect it to be close to 200 attendees and want us there in our class A's!

The show is Saturday October 14th from 10am to 3PM.  The attached flyer has information about the event.  Amy Weems will be coordinating it for the troop so contact her with any questions.

It's a bird, it's a plane...no, it's TRAINS!!! Registration deadline is 10/6

Posted on Oct 5 2023 - 6:56pm

The next campout is going to be very different and a LOT of fun.  You won't want to miss out on this one, so make sure you are registered by the deadline of October 6th as we need this additional time to make sure we have all tickets purchased and reservations made. If you're not registered on time for this one, it is almost guaranteed that you will not be able to join.

It is happening October 27-29.  PARENTS: We need a lot of adult help on this one as there are a lot of moving parts and logistics.  We will need more drivers/cars than usual to facilitate moving the scouts/adults from one area to the next to catch each of the different trains. If you can sign up to help as an adult participant, please do so.

You can see all the details and register by clicking HERE

Chad Howard Eagle Project

Posted on Oct 5 2023 - 6:56pm
Hi, my name is Chad Howard and I am working on my Eagle Scout Project. I am refurbishing SVAA's five pitching machine sheds.

Spring Valley Athletic Association (SVAA) is a non-profit volunteer organization in Dallas TX offering children the opportunity to play recreational sports in the RISD / North Dallas area. The baseball league plays on a number of RISD fields, and several fields have a shed to house the pitching machines, bases, and other baseball equipment. The sheds are in need of new ramps, additional shelves, hooks, lights, and some basic repairs to make them more functional.

I hope you can help me with my Eagle Scout Project!

September 30th is prep day and will be at my house.  The following work days (October 7th, 8th, 15th & 21st) will be onsite at the sheds.  We will provide drinks and snacks.

Workday signups HERE and my GoFundMe link is here: CHAD_GOFUNDME

Thank you in advance for signing up to help me and to help fund my project

-Chad

High Adventure Survey for 2024 and 2025 upcoming years -- Due OCT 2nd

Posted on Sep 28 2023 - 5:00pm

It may sound odd to be talking about planning high adventure treks for the next two years, but that is the lead time it takes to commit to and get reservations for those adventures. This survey is to find out who is interested in booking a high adventure trek in the next 2 years. We're looking at treks in 2024 & 2025. NOTE - Minimum age 12, 13 or 14 depending on the trek.

We will send out a follow-up survey based on these survey results.

Please complete this High Adventure Survey by Oct 2nd.  Survey is accessed HERE

Attached below is a handout describing all the High Adventure options.  If you have any questions, reach out to Mike Reisinger or Stephanie Molina.
