Cottonwood is here. It's still not too late to sign up and help.

Posted on Oct 3 2024 - 9:51pm
This is THE WEEK of our BIGGEST troop fund raiser. The money we make at Cottonwood helps us keep the cost of our annual troop dues low and offsets many troop expenses that would otherwise be passed on to YOU.

It is mission critical that EVERYONE contributes a minimum of 8 hours this weekend between the 4 day event; both youth and adults (16 hours/family).

We have several open positions that have ZERO coverage. We can not leave our station unmanned. Even spots with only 1 person is NOT enough coverage. We NEED MORE HELP.

Everyone is expected to show up for at least some time even if you can't do all 8 hours. Daytime help during Thursday and Friday is much needed. Many hands make light work.

Please sign up ASAP (if you can't do the full 3-4 hour shift, just add the information in the comments of your sign up). Sign up HERE

If we can no longer support this crucial fundraising event, we would need to increase the annual troop dues over $100 PER SCOUT to make up the difference.

We sign a new contract every year with the City of Richardson; this is not a guaranteed Troop 1001 event. The city is counting on us, and if we can no longer fill the required hours, they will ask another troop in the area instead. There are several other troops in our area that would jump at the opportunity to work for the city and earn the money that this event provides. Much of the money that we earn comes from the tips from the artists on load-in and load out. If we don't have people there during the day to load-in artists or enough help at load-out, we won't get those tips.

Tyler Molina Eagle project fundraising

Posted on Oct 3 2024 - 9:33pm

Hello, my name is Tyler Molina. I am an up and coming Eagle Scout who is working on his Eagle project. This project will be for Texas Lone Star Autism Solutions; a clinic that helps children with autism. I will be updating and making their outdoor area more engaging and more stimulating for the children. I’m asking for your financial support in order to make this project successful and help enrich the experiences for these children. Thank you!

Cottonwood: Only a few weeks away - Sign up now - October 2-6

Posted on Sep 26 2024 - 10:10pm

CWFall2024

Troop 1001,

August has come to a close, and that means the Cottonwood Art Festival is only a few weeks away. As many of you know, Cottonwood is one of the Troop's biggest fundraisers and support is needed from everyone throughout the weekend. The dates are October 2nd through October 6th. Remember that each scout is required to work eight hours and each scout family is required to work eight hours (brothers, sisters, grandparents...everyone is invited to get involved)

The SignUpGenius is live. Feel free to login and sign up for open slots. We are looking for somebody to take the reins and shadow the committee chairs this event as we’ll need new leads in May.

We're looking forward to another successful event.
