Troop 1001 awards its 221st Eagle Scout Rank to Cruz Martin

Congratulations to Cruz Martin on earning the rank of Eagle Scout. Cruz is Eagle Scout number 221 from Troop 1001. Thanks go out to the members of Cruz's Eagle Board of Review, Christi Ainsworth, Lance Lewis, Kirk McClure, Jackie Dillon, Cruz's Eagle Advisor Bo Hodnett and District Eagle Designee Mike Reisinger.

Independence Day 2024 Flags Out -- Saturday June 29th -- 8:30am (420 N Grove Rd)

Independence Day 2024 Flags Out (Distribution)  Please sign up HERE

Scouts and parents will meet at the Flag Trailer in the parking lot of GO Industries (420 N. Grove Rd.) at 8:30 am on Saturday, June 29th  to get their route assigments and get into their respective groups.

Please sign up under your patrol leader's name.   If your patrol is full you can sign up under another patrol.  Parents please provide your phone number when signing up. 

Scouts please wear your Class B uniform, and if you desire, work gloves.  Adults if you have a green Troop 1001 T-shirt please wear it.  We want the neighborhood to know that it is the scouts putting out the flags.

Please "Be Prepared" and bring your own water bottle on Saturday.  We will end the event with some ice cream.

Invitation from Venturing Crew 1024 (Plano TX) for Cybersecurity Camp June 24-28

Venturing Crew 1024 out of Plano TX has invited our troop to participate in a Cybersecurity camp.

What is CyberCamp, you ask?

The AFA CyberCamp program is designed to excite students new to cybersecurity about STEM career
opportunities and teach them important cyber defense skills through hands-on instruction and activities.
Through the camp, students will learn how to protect their personal devices and information from outside
threats, as well as how to harden entire networks running Windows and Ubuntu operating systems.
The AFA CyberCamp will culminate in an exciting final team competition that simulates real cybersecurity
situations faced by industry professionals and mimics AFA’s CyberPatriot National Youth Cyber Defense
Competition.

Summer is here! Enjoy your break!

It's hard to believe that school is officially out and summer is really here. 
 
The Splashway campout was a great success and fun was had by ALL. Even the leaders could be spotted on various water slides.
 
Even though we all are not meeting weekly, your new Patrol Leader Council (PLC) and adult leadership team are already hard at work making plans for next year. 
 
We're excited to see y'all for our annual ALL TROOP kickoff event meeting  (including adults) at GDX in August.
 
Remember that we still have 1 of our 4 fundraising events coming up - July 4th flags OUT and IN (June 29th and July 6th).
 
We hope that all of you will enjoy each summer camp, high adventure or your own family adventures coming your way during these couple of months.
 
Keep an eye out for events that may pop up on the troop's website and feel free to contact us with any questions.

Scouts and parents will meet at the parking lot of Trinity Bible Church at 8:30 AM on Saturday, June 1st to get their route assignments and get into their respective groups.

Please sign up under your patrol leader's name, if your patrol is full please sign up under another patrol  

Scouts please wear your Class B uniform, and if you desire, work gloves.  Adults if you have a green Troop 1001 T-shirt please wear it.  We want the neighborhood to know that it is the scouts pulling in the flags.

The troop will be providing bottled water for the event, but please "Be Prepared" and bring your own water bottle on Saturday.  On the positive side, we will end the event with some ice cream.
