Help Needed This Weekend - Wilderness First Aid Training

Needed scouts and scouters to be patients for the Wilderness First Aid class this weekend. This is Sat and/or Sun starting TBC at 2:00 pm for about an hour and half.  I have a moulage kit so you can look realist with wounds.  Anyone interested please email or call me, Mike Reisinger, 972-907-8949.  The time can be used for service for scouting, school, and church.

Youth Protection & CPR/AED Training at Camporee

This year at Camporee adults can take Face-to-Face Youth Protection and CPR/AED Training, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon.  http://northerntrail.circleten.org/camporee-2018-323-252018 details are in Leader Guide.  These course will not take all morning or afternoon so there will still be some time see the scouts in their events.

Adult Training - Great for All Parents

Northern Trail District offers two courses which are required for Soutmasters/Assistant Scoutmasters and very good for all scouters and scout parents. 
 
The Scoutmaster/Assistant Leader Specific Training is two evening course which will explain in detail how scouting works from meetings, patrols, boy leadership, safety, camping abd troop operations. This course is for all adults including parents, committee members, and front lead leaders. The classes are on Wednesday's Mar 21 and 28th
 
The introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) Training is the companion course to Scoutmaster/Assistant Leader Specific. This is a hands-on campout where you participate as your scout would in the requirments of Tenderfoot to First Class. You will learn by doing under the dirsection of experienced leadership in the district.  Expect to learn a lot and have a very enjoyable experience at the same time. The campout is April 7-8.
 

Inks Lake Campout - Feb 16-18

Our February camp out will be to the Texas Hill Country. We will be departing TBC on Friday evening, February 16th, returning to the hospital lot late afternoon on Sunday, February 18th. We will be camping at Inks Lake State Park in Burnet, TX on Friday and Saturday nights. On Saturday, we will be taking a boat tour of Lake Buchanan to see the water wildlife and possibly bald eagles! Sunday morning we will be touring Longhorn Cavern, a hidden gem in the Hill Country. After a picnic lunch on Sunday, we will head back to Dallas. The cost for this camp out is $20 PLUS your $15 (cash) food money to be brought on Money Monday (Feb 12).

We will need lots of drivers for this camp out as we will be traveling to different sites. If you are willing to drive, please sign up on the website and list the number of scouts you can carry and your ability to tow a trailer.

The second payment for summer camp is due by February 9.  Please make note of all the payment dates for summer camp below.  Please click Register to the right of the payment currently due to let us know you're still attending Summer Camp.  You may also make the current payment using PayPal at the same time.

Railroading Merit Badge - Monday, January 29

The next troop meeting will feature a follow-up to the September Campout.  Mr. Chrisman will be teaching the Railroading Merit Badge to cover off the outstanding requirements in time for the Court of Honor.  If you didn’t attend the campout, you can still attend and get a good head start towards completing this merit badge.
