Conservation Service Available this Weekend - Prairie Creek Marsh and Wildscape

Posted on May 15 2025 - 10:44am

This Saturday (5/17) is our Service Day from 8 am - 10 am at Prairie Creek Marsh and Wildscape.

We will be focusing on clearing away Scabiosa from the Native Plants we have been nurturing. We will be looking to scout some trails as well. Always fun to take a wander through the property.

  • Please bring gloves, wear sturdy boots/shoes and clippers.

  • Wear sunscreen and a hat.
  • Please park behind the Hilton Garden Inn at 1001 G. Bush Frwy. in Richardson.

  • We will cancel if it is raining.

Please visit when you can to take in all the beauty that is unfolding out there. We have lots of migrating birds stopping in for a drink as they move north. Beautiful!

Hope to see you out at the PCMW on Saturday.

Take care,

Chrissy Cortez-Mathis, NTMN 2020

Luke Lewis Eagle Project GoFundMe

Posted on May 8 2025 - 11:55am

My name is Luke Lewis, and I am raising money in order to fund my Eagle Project for Troop 1001. My Eagle Project will be a culmination of some of the things I love about scouts; tradition, reverence, and loyalty. I will be building two flag retirement boxes to post at Richardson Fire Station #1 and the Richardson City Offices. I need your help to fund my Eagle project. If you're able, please donate to the GoFundMe at this link!

Reminder: Troop Code of Conduct

Posted on May 8 2025 - 11:54am
This is a reminder that the troop has a formal, written Code of Conduct and that all scouts and parents need to be familiar with it.

A summary of the Troop 1001 Code of Conduct is printed each year in the Troop handbook (usually distributed at the annual kickoff parent meeting, often held at Group Dynamix). These handbooks are available throughout the year in the Troop room at Trinity Bible.

This more complete and detailed version of the Code of Conduct is available for reference online here: Conduct. It is subject to change as needed based on BSA policy or policy documentation needs.

Order a Class B now!

Posted on May 8 2025 - 11:53am

Did your son grow over the year? Does your son need another Class B for summer camp?
Also, the Troop prefers adults wear a green Class B when volunteering with the Troop, especially for Cottonwood or Flags.
Please contact Rita (Swag Coordinator - 214-620-4295) to get one. Sizes range from Youth L to Adult 3XL and the cost is $15. Order now to avoid a scramble after the Troop room closes for the summer!
