Register for this year’s Camporee as it is sure to be a fun time.  Camporee is a district event and troop leadership expects all Scouts to attend. It is a chance for all the Troops in the district to come together and compete for best Troop and best Patrol. This year’s Camporee is at Camp Constantin, located on Possum Kingdom Lake.

Additional details on Camporee are available on the Circle Ten web site here.

Adults registering: Please indicate in the memo section your availability to drive to camp and give the number of seatbelts you have for scouts in your vehicle.

Personal Fitness Merit Badge - Message from Justin Howard

Posted on Mar 14 2019 - 9:36pm
I am happy to be serving as the merit badge counselor for the Personal Fitness merit badge this year.  This eagle required merit badge will require some sustained work over a 12 week period.  We will have an introductory session on Tuesday March 19 at 6:30pm at the JJ Pearce track (located at the corner of Senior Way and Mimosa).  We will then meet for workouts and workbook sessions every Sunday at 2:00pm at the JJ Pearce track.  The Sunday sessions will go from Sunday March 24 (may adjust this one due to Camporee) to Sunday June 9.  All sessions will last around 45 minutes.

Time for Camp Cards!

Posted on Feb 28 2019 - 8:13pm
Camp cards are here and reservations have been made. Mark your calendars for these dates and times.

This Saturday March 2 @ 9:00-1:00
Dick's sporting goods Galleria
13838 Dallas Parkway
Dallas, 75240

Friday, March 29 @ 4:00-8:00
Lowe's#2779
501 South Plano Rd
Richardson, 75081

May 13th all unsold cards and money are due.

What do I say?

"Hi, my name is ??? I'm a scout with troop 1001. We're selling camp cards to help earn our way to summer camp. (Show them the card) You can help us by purchasing this $10 card. With the discounts, the card MORE than pays for itself! You will help us, won't you?!"

Remember to thank everyone. Even people who don't buy. Just saying "thanks for listening" will often cause people to change their mind.

If you don't have cards yet find me at the next troop meetings. The cards are different this year because we don't have a grocery store coupon. You'll have 11 weeks to sell cards. If you don't sell the cards that's okay. Just make sure you turn in all unsold cards and money at the troop meeting May 13th. The cards are $10 each and half of that goes into your personal scout account. So if you sell 10 cards that's $100 and $50 is yours to use for high adventures or other camping trips. Good luck!

Other reservations will be made for Tom thumb and Albertsons at a later time. After awhile the slots will be open again for us to make more reservations for selling cards outside of stores. Remember as long as you have permission from any other store owner you can sell outside anywhere if your scout desires to do so.

Please contact me with any questions or concerns.

Yours in scouting,
