Life Skills Survey

Posted on May 20 2020 - 7:42pm

Hello all,

If you have not done so please have your Scouts fill out the life skill surveys. Younger Scouts may need an adult to help them with this process. It is all online so it is easy to access. This helps us to determine how the program is doing according to the youth. Also it helps to get valuable grants to support the program.

Don't Miss Out! OA Elections and Troop Elections @ May 18 Troop Meeting

Posted on May 15 2020 - 3:36pm

Scouts...don't miss out! Both our Order of the Arrow (OA) Election and our Troop Leadership Election for next year will be held during our virtual Troop meeting on Monday, May 18. We will be running the elections electronically using Google Forms. We will require your name and email address on both election forms in order to participate, and only one vote per Scout will be counted. If by some chance you are able to submit more than one ballot, only the first one submitted will be counted toward each election.

We are only electing our 8 Patrol Leaders and our Senior Patrol Leader for next year at this time. All other positions are decided upon at a later date by our newly elected youth leadership team. The requirements for participating in our leadership elections are below. Please see the Troop Elections FAQ document on our website for details. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Mr. Otte via email at scoutmaster@troop1001.org.

During our yearly OA Election, Scouts are nominated for membership in the Scouts BSA National Honor Society. The OA is comprised of individuals who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. Scouts are elected by their peers, and all Scouts who meet the following eligibilty requirements will be included on the ballot:

We have 2021 Dog Sled Trek Scout and Scouter positions open and would like to give our troop time to think about it before reaching out to other troops. If you want to learn more about this exciting opportunity, talk to Rogge, Randy or any of the boys that attended this year. They will all tell you it was an amazing experience and with the equipment/training – you aren’t really “that cold.”  Learn more.
