Jack Casey's Eagle Project - 1/8 and 1/15 at FUMCR

Posted on Jan 5 2022 - 8:20pm

Jack Casey's Eagle Scout project is taking place on January 8 and 15 at First United Methodist Church of Richardson.  Sign up here to participate, and here is the GoFundMe to provide financial support.

Hello my name is Jack Casey. I am fundraising for my Eagle Scout project, which will occur on January 8th and 15th. Donations collected will go towards building First United Methodist Church Richardson a new outdoor worship space. For the project we will be digging out the existing rock garden and transforming it into a brand new walking platform with 2 new benches and freshly painted picnic tables. Once transformed this space will be used by the Junior and Senior High youth groups for outdoor worship, cookouts, outdoor activities, and so much more. Outdoor spaces have become all the more necessary in this new Covid age.  Funds raised will go towards materials, supplies,  and renting equipment. Any amount donated would make a huge impact and allow this project to come to fruition. Any excess funds will be directly donated to FUMCR after the projects' completion. Thank you so much for your support!

  2. Use the sign up classes  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E084FABA92F4-2022

Adults – we need you too! Winter Camp is cabin camping and a ton of fun. Please review the signup genius and volunteer to assist with a class or help with meals (parents shop and prepare lunch on Saturday and Sunday). If you need a campership, please reach out to CommitteChair@troop1001.org.

Derby Day 2021

Posted on Dec 9 2021 - 4:33pm

Parents & Scouts: Troop 1001 will be holding the annual Derby Day event on December 12, 2021 at Erwin Park in McKinney TX.  This is an event where the scouts ride on derby cars that each patrol builds. They ride two at a time (one “driver” and one “brakeman”).  Every scout who will be riding on or driving a derby car must have a signed permission slip turned in to the troop prior to the event.
