Jason Bascom Eagle Project - THIS WEEKEND

Posted on Mar 31 2022 - 9:20pm
Please sign up and help me (Jason) build a new wooden pergola for the Heritage Farmstead Museum in time for their Spring Festival!

We ask for many scouts and adults to help complete the project by noon on Sunday to meet the Farmstead's requested deadline. The volunteer hours can count as conservation hours for advancement and will be reported to the troop for you. Here's what we'll be doing:
  • Friday evening - put up the 9 support posts and tidy up patio bricks that had to be moved for the post work. Pizza at 6:30.
  • Saturday - prepare the wood for the roof frame and shade slats, while the cement dries. Donuts in the morning, unspecified snacks later.
  • Sunday morning - raise and attach the roof frame and shade slats. Breakfast tacos (and/or donuts).
Please pick one or two shifts!

Eagle Scout Project for Jason Bascom - This Saturday 3/19

Posted on Mar 16 2022 - 10:50pm
Hello scouts and parents, this is Jason Bascom.

Phase one of my Eagle scout project will be occurring at the Heritage Farmstead this Saturday, from 8:30 to 2:00 and I want you to be there. The task for the day will be to take down an old and rotting pergola, so that we can go back and build there at a later date. This means that there will be heavy lifting and tool use, so older scouts and adults are especially encouraged to volunteer. You'll be able to get service hours, and if it lasts as long as it should there will be a pizza break. C'mon and sign up, only while supplies last!
