New Leadership Training - Youth Outdoor Leader Skills (YOLS)

Unlock Your Leadership Potential!

Are you ready to move beyond the basics and start leading? We are looking for Scouts who want to become the next generation of Troop Guides and Instructors.
While NYLT and ILST focus on team dynamics, this course is a deep dive into skill mastery and presentation. You’ll work in small patrols to perfect your First Class skills while learning how to use the EDGE method to teach others effectively.
 
Join the Team:
  • Who: Mature Scouts (First Class or close to it).
  • Size: Limited to 8 Scouts for a personalized experience.
  • Mentorship: You’ll be paired with Adult Mentors to help you level up your teaching "hacks."

FORT HOOD - Rescheduled - ACTION REQUIRED BY 3/2/26

Fort Hood has been rescheduled to April 24–26. Registration is now OPEN, and all participants will need to re‑register by March 2, 2026 to attend on the new dates. The old registration list was deleted so you'll need to sign up again. Pleast note that all all payments  already made still count for this trip.

The cost is $50 per person (including adults) to help cover the van rental, plus $20 in cash for meals.

Congratulations to Kyle Strohmeyer on earning the rank of Eagle Scout on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Kyle is Eagle Scout number 230 from Troop 1001. Thanks also go out to the members of Kyle’s Eagle Board of Review, Casey Fuld, Steven Foust and Jared Shoemaker and District Eagle Designee Mike Reisinger.

Public Safety Merit Badge Day

The City of Richardson is planning a Public Safety Merit Badge Day for troops in Richardson, and we would like to invite your Scouts. Please see the attached flyer with details and sign up instructions.
