Boy Scout Troop 1001

We really need your help. Running a troop of this size with consistent, quality programs, requires a lot of participation by all the parents in the Troop.

Currently, we have numerous positions in the Troop that need parental staffing. Attached you will find a listing of all the positions in the Troop, including the ones that currently are un-staffed. As you can see, we need everyone who is not currently helping, to pitch in to the extent they are able to do so.

Many of these positions are for once-a-year programs, so they don't require a lot of effort year round. Some may be done by untrained adults, although we would like for all parents, both moms and dads, to consider becoming an Official Boy Scout Trained advisor. For all programs that interface with the boys, Youth Protection Training is mandatory.

Most of these positions are self explanatory, but you may not be familiar with some of them, if you have not been involved in the Troop before. Please feel free to discuss any of these positions with any of our uniformed Assistant Scoutmasters at the Parent's Meeting this Saturday evening at 7pm at the Teamworks Indoor Challenge in Mesquite.

Our Assistant Scoutmaster in charge of Adult Training, Doug Miller, will be available to explain the Adult Training Program, and give you the dates for that too.

As your son continues to grow and progress towards the goal of becoming an exceptional young man, it is our goal to assist that development in every way possible. That goal is only attainable to the extent that we all pitch in, no matter how little time you have available. We can find a place for you even if you only have a few minutes a month to spare.
