Boy Scout Troop 1001

Mark your calendars now for the the fall kickoff lock-in, which has been scheduled for Saturday, August 19, 2006 at Group Dynamix Teamworks in Mesquite.  Scheduling conflicts kept us from using our historical venue, but the new place promises to be just as fun.  The lock-in is scheduled for 7:00 p.m Saturday through 7:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

Parents: Details of the accompanying parent meeting will be published soon.  Plan to attend Saturday evening.

Hello to all Troop 1001 scouts and scouters,

The school year is starting and our first outing is next weekend - Saturday, August 19, 2006. This year we will have our kickoff Lock-in event at Teamworks Indoor Challenge in Mesquite. It is scheduled from 7pm until 7am. Please plan to arrive between 6:30pm-6:50pm so we can get the program for the scouts started promptly at 7:00pm. There will be a meeting with parents from 7:00 until 8:00pm. We plan to take pictures for our directory so make it a good hair day.

The cost for each scout will be $15 which will be collected at Teamworks. Each scout must have a signed Event Release Form. A blank copy is attached to this message.

The current schedule for the event is:

• 7pm-1am Organized event portion (High energy games, ice breakers, initiatives, lower elements, ropes course)
• 1am-2am Dinner break
• 2am-7am Structured free time (trampolines, tumble track, foam pit, video projector, games on tumbling floor, sleep?)
• 7am Wakeup, cleanup, packup
• Go Home!
