scoutmaster_patch_color Hello all Scouts and Scouters,

Scouting for Food – nearly 1,100 cans!

Last Saturday was our annual food drive to support the North Texas food pantry. The 13 scouts and 10 adults that helped out collected nearly 1,100 cans/boxes of food which had Mr. Reisinger’s truck overflowing with food! Afterward we all went to Macaroni Grill where Mr. Watts spoiled us with a fantastic lunch.

Many thanks to all the Scouts and Scouters who gave up their Saturday morning for this important cause and special thanks to Melissa Harmon, Alex O., and Ethan H. for organizing this event for the troop.

Camporee is coming soon – 03/05 at Camp Cherokee

Camporee is less than two weeks away. Each Patrol Leader should hold a Patrol meeting before Camporee to work on Scouting skills. Now is the time to finish honing your skills and be ready do put them to use during the competition. Camporee is a competition of Scouting skills, songs, cooking, root beer chugging, and lots of other fun events.

At Camporee Patrol Spirit is extremely important. Bring your patrol flag, yell, and be ready to have fun

Register now for the Spring NYLT – National Youth Leadership Training

There is still time to register for the Spring NYLT sessions starting March 14th [Ed. note: the second session starting the next day has been canceled]. This is the last session before summer break. All current and prospective Patrol Leaders should attend NYLT. Follow this link to register – http://www.c10nylt.org/.

Next regular Troop meeting is Monday, 03/01 – Money Monday

On Monday, 03/0, the boys will work on lashings. This is an essential Scouting skill with many applications on a campout. Remember to make the lashings “tighter than possible”!

Yours in Scouting,
Scoutmaster Payette
