scoutmaster_patch_color Hello Scouts and Scouters,

"We like to camp in sun, wind, and rain (Ice and Snow!)"

We had a great campout last weekend. Downed trees at Camp Wisdom forced us to cancel Friday night's camping but Saturday was a lot of fun. In spite of the unusual schedule, weather conditions, and distractions (snowballs) the Scouts did a great job of adapting and finished everything they planned to do. They cooked some impressive dinners including, chicken fajitas, Philly cheese steaks, Dutch oven lasagna, and even ice cream.

After the Saturday Camporee prep events the Campfire had an Olympic theme.

Congratulation to our medal winners:

  • Gold: Swol Patrol
  • Silver: America's Patrol
  • Bronze: Dr. Pepper Patrol (in spite of having only TWO Scouts!)

Scouting for Food is this Saturday, followed by pizza at Macaroni Grill

We need your help to collect food this Saturday, 02/20. We will meet at TBC at 9:00 on Saturday and should be finished by noon. After we pick up the food we will all head over to Macaroni Grill and have Mr. Watts' hand-made pizza!

Please contact Alex O. ASAP so we can include you in our count. Your help is very important. Please plan to be there.

Camporee is coming soon - 03/05 at Camp Cherokee

Camporee is only two weeks away. Now is the time to finish honing your Scouting skills and be ready do put them to use during the competition. Camporee is a competition of Scouting skills, songs, cooking, root beer chugging, and lots of other fun events.

At Camporee Patrol Spirit is extremely important. Bring your patrol flag, yell, and be ready to have fun

Register now for the Spring NYLT - National Youth Leadership Training

There is still time to register for the Spring NYLT sessions starting March 14th and March 15th. These are the last two sessions before summer break. All current and prospective Patrol Leaders should attend NYLT. Follow this link to register - http://www.c10nylt.org/

Next regular Troop meeting is Monday, 02/22

On Monday, 02/22, the boys will work on fire building. Remember, the fire is built before you light it. Invest your time wisely to build a good campfire. One part tinder (dry and fluffy), two parts kindling (toothpick to pencil size), fuel wood as needed.

We look forward to meeting the Webelos that will visit us during this meeting.

Yours in Scouting,
Scoutmaster Payette
