Update 7:50 pm Friday:

Camp Wisdom has cleared the way for our campout to start Saturday morning. The troop will form up at 9 am Saturday, Feb 13 at TBC and depart shortly thereafter. Most campout activities will occur as planned.

The troop will return at the originally scheduled 12:45 pm Sunday to the hospital parking lot across from TBC.

Should any further changes occur, we will notify via email and on the troop Web site. Please check one or the other before you depart home Saturday morning.

Patrol Leaders - Call your patrol members again

It is critical that you call ALL of your scouts ASAP with this information. Many are without power and can't access the web site. If answered by a machine, leave a message and then try another number for that scout. It is imperative that you make positive contact with each family.

Due to the impact of the weather to the Camp Wisdom facility, the adult and youth leadership have decided that we must cancel the Friday night camping portion of this weekend's campout. We are considering leaving for Camp Wisdom as early as 9 am Saturday but need to monitor conditions before we can establish a firm a departure time.

Current conditions have resulted in many downed tree limbs within the metroplex and lots of downed trees at Camp Wisdom where camp site roads are impassable. The camp ranger is working to clear the roads but will not be able to determine the availability of a camp site until late tonight or tomorrow morning. He is hopeful that there will be a camp site available Saturday night. We are still pursuing options for Saturday which may include the use of the large Cub World facility.

We will post the most current information as it develops via email and on this Web site. Please check one or the other frequently to learn the revised plan. Be prepared for a departure as early as 9 am Saturday.

Webmaster's note: When checking the web site, be sure to refresh or reload your screen to view the most current information. There is usually an icon or the key combination Ctrl-R for that in most browsers.

If you want to add another email address to the Troop 1001 list, follow the instructions at this link.
