April Campout - Down-River Canoe Trip |

Our “Down-River Canoe Trip” campout is April 21-23. We may have to cap attendance, so please commit as soon as possible. Canoe fee is $15 per person. Location is Beaver Bend State Park (more links: park info, park map) near Broken Bow, Oklahoma. This is a longer drive than usual, so let’s be on-time and ready to go on Friday. (Arrive before 5:30 p.m.)
Adults: please take the on-line aquatics training at http://www.scouting.org/pubs/aquatics prior to the campout. Complete both Safe Swim Defense and Safety Afloat. Be sure to print out completion certificates and bring them along on the trip.

Here is one set of driving directions. We may choose a different route.
Bring $15 (plus patrol food money), sack dinner, and permission slips with you on Friday.
Here are the directions (through Durant, OK):
- Take US-75 north to Durant, OK (77 miles)
- Exit US-70 in Durant, head east about 35 miles to Hugo
- Take US-70BYP/US-271S around Hugo (about 3 miles)
- Get back on US-70 east to Idabel (about 62 miles)
- US-70 merges with US-259N in Idabel
- Go north on US-259/US-70 to where highways split (about 8 miles)
- Stay on US-259 north to OK-259A. (6.3 miles)
- Take OK-259A east to Beaver Bend State Park.(4.4 miles)
