Update Sept 16, 2009:

This is a very full campout: 50 boys signed up as did many adults. Everyone will have to do his part to pull it off successfully.

Adults who wish to canoe must have passed a BSA in-water swim test. They must have also completed online Safe Swim, Safety Afloat and Youth Protection Training on the BSA Online Learning Center. Please show training certificates to Ms. Van Hamme at check-in.

We need additional Coast Guard-approved personal floatation devices (life jackets). If you have access to any, please bring them along. Be sure to write your name on them.

Adults, we will probably need all the drivers who offered Monday night. Plan to drive a car full of scouts.

Timely departure Friday is imperative. It's a long drive and we have an early start Saturday. Please observe the following:

  • Arrive on time--5:30 pm, with a sack dinner
  • Scouts, place your pack or duffel in the pack line
  • Scouts and adults, check in at the table staffed by Ms. Van Hamme and Mr. Saverline
  • Didn't turn in a permission slip? Print one out at home, sign and submit at check-in
  • Didn't turn in $10 Monday? Bring it, too. Don't leave your patrol's food buyer with the bill.
  • Scouts, check in with your patrol leader. Stay with your patrol unless directed to do something else.

Didn't sign up but want to go? Contact Mr. Goad and Mr. Payette immediately. Transportation and equipment are both limited, so late-comers will be accommodated as space and logistics allow.

Be Prepared! Remember:

  • Permission form, signed by your parent (bring Monday)
  • $10 for your patrol's food (also Monday)
  • Check the weather
  • Pack or duffel with your personal gear (packing list on the permission form)
  • Sack dinner for the road
  • Class A uniform
  • Meet at 5:30 pm Friday

For Scouters:

Tent The September 18-20, 2009 campout will be to Beavers Bend State Park near Broken Bow, Oklahoma for canoeing and first aid. As usual, we will meet in the TBC parking lot at 5:30 pm Friday to form up and load up. We will return Sunday about 12:30 pm to the hospital parking lot across Campbell Road from TBC.
