scoutmaster_patch_color Hello all Scouts and Scouters,

Thank you to all who attended last weekend's run for the roses. The Panther Patrol took the speed trophy while the Vegetarian Vikings rolled down the hill collecting the style award. Thank you to Mr. Reisinger and Mrs. Van Hamme who attended to the injured, among whom managed to take the hill in a record 26.5 seconds. For those unable to attend please go to the photo link on the website to see the many faces of joy in scouting.

We have a camping schedule change this month. Please mark your calendars. This month's campout has been moved to Saturday February 21st through Sunday February 22nd. We will leave Saturday morning and return Sunday Evening. Please note this is a change from our normal pattern of Friday to Sunday at noon.

I wish to thank Richard H. for his service this year as SPL. Richard has been elevated to Assistant Scoutmaster. TJ is serving as SPL until the spring elections. Happy Birthday Richard and good luck TJ; you have big shoes to fill.

All scouts working toward rank advancement should bring their scout book to the next meeting and each meeting. This allows their patrol leader to sign off on tasks completed for advancement.

Troop 1001 has the high honor of staffing Camporee this year. We need a minimum of 10 scouts and 10 scouters to step up. Let's work together to ensure that our troop helps make the 2009 Camporee one of the best experiences a scout can have. Please contact me or Mr. Miller to volunteer. A cool hat is included.

We had a great turnout of Webelos at the campout this weekend. Here we grow again. If you are a parent that wants to participate and have not up until now, please consider attending one of the fun training sessions provided by the North Trail District. You can find the schedule at www.northtrail.org. Your son will thank you and you will have the time of your life. A Scout is Helpful.

Scout Sunday is here. We will assemble this Sunday February 8th at 8:45am at TBC in full class A uniform. The service will be from 9:00am until 10:15am. All Scouts, Scouters and parents are encouraged to attend. A Scout is Reverent.

Yours in Scouting,
Scoutmaster Coon
