- Parent meeting for summer camp
- Sign up for Memorial day trip
- Schedule times to help at Cottonwood
Hello all Scouts and Scouters,
There are many things happening within the troop and we are coming into that busy time of year when school is winding down and summer activities are revving up. For readability I will present the many events as a bulleted list. Please mark your calendars and check the web site for more in depth detail.
- Summer Camp parent meeting on Monday at 7pm at the church. All families sending
a youth to camp should have at least one parent present.
- Memorial Day trip sign-up is still happening. We will go to Galveston Beach, NASA
and The Battleship Texas on May 23-26, 2008. The fee is $100 per seat.
- Cottonwood Sign-up. Cottonwood is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Each scout
family should plan to contribute to this important weekend May 2-4.
- Scout Show tickets are for sale. 50% of the proceeds go to the scout and 50%
to the troop. Every scout family should sell at least 10 tickets. This is a great
way to earn the May camping fee or to get some extra money for summer camp. The
Scout Show will be at Market Hall May 10, 2008.
- Communications merit badge class meets at 6pm at TBC.
- Scoutmaster Conferences will continue at 6pm at TBC. Boards of Review are also
scheduled Monday night. Scouts should contact Mr. Miller to confirm their BOR.
Thank you to all that turned out for Trash Bash last weekend. We removed 20 bags of
garbage and other detritus from Prairie Creek just south of Collins Road. Cheerful
service to the community is one of the best ways to reflect the true meaning of scouting.
