Hello all Scouts and Scouters,

I hope you all had a wonderful break. Mr. Miller and I had a great time between Christmas and New Year with seven scouts attempting to bring the Winter Camp Sled Race trophy home. They won their heat and made it to the finals but did not win in the final race.

I thank those parents who gave their sons the opportunity to attend. I hope we can take a bigger group next year and bring the Sled Race trophy home. We maintained the troop tradition of camping in Sun, Wind and Rain just like the troop song says.

There is a lot planned for tonight due to a busy spring planned. We need to make sure we have enough adult leadership available for these events to ensure the Scouts meet their goals. Each family should plan to have at least one parent or guardian attend tonight's meeting.

Tonight at 6:00pm any eligible scout that does not have his First Aid Merit badge should plan to attend. There is a schedule on the website for this Eagle required award.

Also tonight at 6:00 pm, the God and Country program continues.  Tonight and January 15 are the last dates to fulfill requirements for the award if it is to be received at TBC's Scout Sunday service, February 11.

There will be a meeting for adult parents and guardians starting at 7:00pm. The purpose is to schedule adult leadership to participate in the events through camporee. Also to inform about the high adventure opportunities available to your son as well as the cost and planning requirements for same.

The Scouts will be meeting tonight to discuss:

  1. Lightweight stove preparation and use
  2. Low impact camping or leave no trace

See you tonight at the TBC!

Yours in Scouting,
Scoutmaster Coon
