Boy Scout Troop 1001

January 19 Update: A regular troop meeting has been added to the schedule for January 22, 7:00 to 8:30 pm.  In addition to the already-scheduled high adventure presentation, scouts will prepare for Troop 1001's trip to Austin less than two weeks away.

Take a Real Hike: High Adventure Presentation 

Mr. Reisinger will give a multimedia presentation on high adventure opportunities.  This information for scouts and parents will help you prepare and plan for a trek or voyage in the summer of 2008 to:

• Philmont
• Northern Tier
• Florida Sea Base
• South Texas Sea Base
• The new Texas Sea Base
• Others

Scouts currently in the troop will be old enough to participate in any of these activities by the summer of 2008, so be sure to attend.

Take a Bus to Austin, Meet the Governor?

Troop 1001 is participating in the Capitol Area Council's annual Report to State on Saturday, February 3.  Scouts from all over Texas will converge on Austin and march in a parade to the capitol steps.  We'll camp in Austin Friday and Saturday nights.  The troop has chartered a bus to get us there and back, so there's nothing to do but have a good time.  Learn more about this way cool adventure at Monday's meeting.
