Hello all Scouts and Scouters;

December is a busy month, I hope you are all finding time to consider the true meaning of the season. A scout is reverent. In many lands we pause to reflect and Troop 1001 will do the same this weekend at Breckinridge Park in Richardson at Pavilion C and the fire ring nearby. All parents and scouts are encouraged to attend.

We have extended an open invitation to any area Webelos that are seeking to join a high adventure scout-led troop to come and enjoy a meal and campfire with us.

Full Class A Uniform is assumed. Those that display additional regalia will be acknowledged by special scoutmaster award.

The schedule for our Court of Honor is as follows:

Setup

1:00 Load Trailer at TBC (Quartermasters and Sr. Patrol)
2:00 Arrive at Breckinridge Park, Pavilion C for setup. Sr. Patrol, Patrol Leaders, Patrol & Troop Quartermasters.

Court of Honor

3:00 All Scouts and Parents assemble at Pavilion C
3:10 Opening Flag Ceremony, Moment of Reverence & Announcements
3:30 Award Ceremony
4:30 Dinner
5:30 Can you say Trebochet?* or Punkin Chunkin
6:00 Campfire
8:00 Cleanup
9:00pm Depart Breckinridge

(*Etymology: Middle English trebochet, from Anglo-French trebuchet : a medieval military engine for hurling heavy things (like pumpkins))

Here is a link to the park; check out the cool satellite image. Enter at Entrance C off Brand Road.

I look forward to seeing you all there.

Yours in Scouting,
Scoutmaster Coon
