  florida_seabase_logoUpdated October 13, 2007.

schooner We have received from Florida Sea Base one of the 12 coveted summer 2008 Scuba Live Aboard slots from its 2007 Lottery. The dates are June 21-28, 2008.

Come join us on this incredible adventure. The BSA Florida National High Adventure Sea Base has combined sailing and scuba diving into one. We will be sailing and diving in the warm, tropical waters surrounding the Florida Keys for 8 days and 7 nights aboard a USCG inspected 57-foot schooner called the Conch Pearl. Once aboard, every day is a diving day, we will be doing up to 15 dives (weather permitting), including 3 night dives. The boat is crewed by trained professionals, a Captain, 1st Mate, and a Scuba Dive master. The participant crew size is 10 minimum to a maximum of 12 (including adults.) Currently we have 4 adults and 4 youth signed up. Space is limited and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.

The cost is $860 per person. This includes all scuba equipment: mask, fins, snorkel, BCD, regulator, tanks, lodging (first and last nights are on land in the air conditioned Sea Base sailing dorms), and food. Not included: Transportation to and from Florida Sea Base and any other incidentals.

scuba All participants must be 14 years of age by date of attendance, and you must be SCUBA certified by a BSA recognized agency. The troop has arranged a group rate of $175 per person with a local SCUBA training facility for Scouts and adults who are not yet certified.

To reserve your space, the first half of the fee, $430, is due immediately to the troop treasurer, Mr. Terry Watts.

For more information, contact Scott Bartolome 214-923-1026.

Transportation and lodging will be determined soon and will be due by April 1, 2008.
