Visit our Campfire after Court of Honor
December 9th at Breckenridge Park in Richardson

We’ll be recognizing the Scouts of Troop 1001 with advancement, merit badges, and other various honors all day. Come by with your Webelos and family around 4:30 pm to catch the end, join us in a pot luck social, and enjoy some campfire fun.

It is not a campout, it is close by, and a perfect opportunity for us to meet you. The Scouts of the Canyon Creek Crew hope to see you there!

We invite scouts and parents to visit our troop meetings Monday nights, 7pm, at Trinity Bible Church. Some meetings are better than others to visit. A meeting just before a troop campout will be spent in patrol corners making last minute meal, activity, and duty roster plans. If your Webelo intends to accompany us on the campout, this will be a good time to visit. If not, you may prefer to visit during a meeting where we can provide more personal attention.

The best meetings for visits over the next couple months: Nov 27, Dec 4, Jan 8, Jan 29.

Cub Scout Roundtable suggested a “Cubs in Shining Armor” theme for November Pack Meetings. Several simple crafts for Webelos CRAFTSMAN were detailed in this month’s Round Table Theme & Resource Book: Leather Crafting a pocket knife sheath and neckerchief slide, Simple plastic Bird Feeder, Wood Crafting a Tri-pod camp stool & Knife Block.

Keeping in the medieval theme, here are the instructions for an old fashioned lamp.

WEBELOS I & II

Troop 1001 invites you for a fun filled scouting weekend of camping, fishing, & shooting sports. Mr. Ken Raney, a former Scoutmaster of Troop 1001, has invited Troop 1001 and their guests again this year to enjoy his many acres at Quail Alley. Mr. Raney purchased this land with scouts in mind and they continue to enjoy this event tradition year after year!

This is a great opportunity to meet the scouts and leaders of Troop 1001 while getting a taste of what scouting is all about.

Activities begin Saturday morning and continue all day:

• Fishing in three stocked ponds
• Many beautiful acres for hiking & exploration
• Archery & BB Range
• Webelos Specific Activities
• Patrol games and activities
• Campfire skits, songs, star gazing, & more scouting fun!

Leave with us Oct 20th at 5:30pm from the parking lot at Trinity Bible Church, 400 W Campbell Rd, across from Richardson Regional Hospital. Or Meet the Troop at Raney’s Ranch Saturday morning. We’ll return Sunday to the parking lot at Richardson Regional Hospital.

Due to an overwhelming response from Webelos visitors in the past we have had to set a limit on how many we can bring and ask that you contact us for reservations as soon as possible.

We also ask that at least one parent accompany each Webelo visitor also as our guests and that both attend the Troop Planning Meeting for this event on October 16th at Trinity Bible Church, 7 pm.
